Strawberry Fest Raises Money For Community Projects
7/13/2012 (Updated 11:19:23 PM)
For organizations that suffered from last September's flood a Strawberry Fest is sweetening the picture. On Friday two checks totalling more than 18-hundred dollars each were given to the Gateway Community Park Project and the Tioga County Historical Society Museum. The money is from the proceeds of this year's Strawberry Festival's 1st annual 5k walk-run and kid's fun run.
"We are really excited by the support we've received after the flood, public and private support. This helps us reinvigorate our facility and it's great to know the public supports us," said the executive director of the Tioga County Historical Society, Kevin Lentz.
The money will help these organizations with the continuing effort to bounce back from the flood.
