Preparations Underway For This Weekend's Ukrainian Festival
7/12/2012 (Updated 11:14:47 PM)
Thursday evening, organizers were busy getting ready for the event which promises to be filled with plenty of cultural activities, including traditional Ukrainian performances by the kids. Pyrohy and kielbasa along with a Ukraine beer will be on the menu and they'll be plenty of arts and crafts to view including Ukrainian Easter Eggs.
"When they come out the food is the main attraction, but to keep 'em here we also have music. We have DJ Joe who'll be spinning tunes all day Saturday, and on Sunday from 3 to 8 we'll have Rooster and The Roadhouse Horns with Freddie, so a lot of people like to come out and dance to their tunes" said Pastor Teodor Czabala.
The festival has been taking place for more than 60 years and runs Saturday and Sunday from noon to eight in the evening. The picnic grounds are on Brooks Road in Castle Creek.
