Debbie Preston Cracks Down on Welfare Fraud

this follows the latest round of investigations into abuse of the system.
County Executive Debbie Preston announced the arrests Thursday.
The benefits used by those who've been criminally charged total more than 41-thousand dollars.
Preston says while public assistance programs should exist for people who truly need them, Broome County will continue it's crackdown on individuals who abuse the system.
Welfare fraud charges were brought against other individuals in January and May.
The county has gone after nearly six million dollars worth of benefits.
