Something for Everyone at NYS Fair

(Source: Fox 40 Staff)

The annual Great New York State Fair showcases the best the state has to offer in agriculture, entertainment, and education.  The fair attracts nearly a million visitors each year, 50,000 of them from the Southern Tier.

Fair Director Dan O'Hara said the 2012 Fair will have everything for any interest such as unique exhibits, animal shows, signature State Fair food, rides, and agricultural displays.

O'Hara said one of the biggest attractions is the musical entertainment at the fair.  "There's just something about music that people thoroughly enjoy, so we wanted to make sure that we provide a whole different variety of genres for the different interests there," said O'Hara.

The 2012 NYS Fair Grandstand acts include: Jason Aldean, Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival, The Wanted, Keith Urban, and Larry the Cable Guy.

Many people enjoy the free Chevy Court acts.  This year will feature 24 acts including Neon Trees, Matt Nathanson, Theory of a Deadman, Mike Posner, Charlie Daniels Band and many more.

There is also a Binghamton influence at the fair.  O'Hara said a lot of the talent in the Arts and Home Center are represented from the Binghamton area.

The fair kicks off August 23rd to September 3rd in Syracuse.
