Age Doesn't Keep 88 Year-Old JC Woman from Political Protests
7/9/2012 (Updated 11:16:10 PM)One of the activists at Monday's news conference on drone warfare was 88-year-old Mary Snyder of Johnson City.
She was arrested during a recent protest at the Hancock Air Force Base near Syracuse, where activists say drones are piloted remotely.
It's her third arrest for protesting drones.
When she goes to court, she says, judges are usually surprised to see a woman close to 90 years old facing charges.
"They're very respectful of me - the judge. and in fact I think maybe that's why I haven't been sent to jail before. I am 88."
Snyder's only arrests have come during drone protests, despite spending much of her adult life as an activist, beginning during the Civil Rights movement.
