Putting On the Pajamas to Raise Money For Kids
7/1/2012 (Updated 11:00:54 PM)If you were at Otsiningo park on Sunday you probably were wondering why everyone was in their pajamas.
They were taking part in a 5k run and family fun walk to raise money for the organization "A Room to Heal." Its a group of volunteers who go to the home of a child that's recovering from a serious illness. There they'll redo the child's room in their favorite theme and create a healing environment for their recovery.
"One I like that its local. Kids that are terminal, like cancer you know when they come home they need a place to heal and recover. I know I can make the distance. I've never run when its this hot so I'm just excited to be a part of it and you know feed off the crowd and everyone else running" said Runner Dawn Pitcher.
Organizers say they were very happy with Sunday''s turnout and hope to make it an annual event.
