Cruisin Pallooza Gathers Food for Chow

(Source: By Kena Vernon)

It's a celebration of cars and motorcycles all to gather support for a local food bank.

Douglas Evans knows his motorcycles. He's spent countless hours making sure his bike represented a day that has a lot of meaning for him, 9-11.

"It's something people will never forget and I just wanted to display what it meant to me,"said Evans.

Evans' brother is a fallen firefighter. He's showing off his bike here at Cruisin Pallooza.

It's a three day event in Whitney Point that celebrates classic cars and motorcycles and it always draws a crowd.

"There are so many bikes to look at. Bikes are a piece of art and need to be looked at," said Sean King.

" I just like looking at all the old stuff seeing how they use to build stuff back in the day and the difference between the stuff now and back then,"
added Matthew Smith.

Cruisin Pallooza is  coordinated by the Whale radio station. The goal is to collect food for CHOW,Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse.

"There is a lot of people hurting out there especially because of the floods. It's can I put insulation in my house or can I buy groceries so it's really import more than ever this year," said Holly Dagger, Radio Personality at the Whale.

You can find CHOW bins through the Cruisin Pallooza area. Everyone that comes in is asked to leave a donation. The goal is to help fight hunger.

The Cruisin Pallooza has been held to benefit chow for 12 years.
