"A new vision for Broome County" was the message Thursday night as Tarik Abdelazim kicked off the fundraising for his county executive campaign.
He spoke with supporters and other local democratic politicians at the Lost Dog Cafe Thursday evening.
He says his experience in City Hall prepared him to lead the county.
"What I'm going to roll out are very effective, real solutions. The same kind of principles that I did the last six years in city hall where we carried forward with leadership and vision," Abdelazim said.
"We made the tough decisions that implement the real solutions that benefited the city tax payers, and now I'm going to take that same leadership and expertise to benefit all county taxpayers."
Abdelazim will run against current County Executive Debbie Preston in November.
