Floral Park Pool Open!

The Floral Park Pool is open again and not a moment too soon.

At 4:00PM Thursday, the pool reopened after being shut down for more than a week. 

The opening brought a splash of relief to families looking for a way to beat the heat.
 
The village shut the pool down earlier this month when chlorine levels spiked sending several children to the hospital.

Officials hoped to have the pool open Wednesday, but had to wait until paperwork was finalized with the county.

The young swimmers we met were thrilled to be back in the water.

"That it's nice and cold on hot days, and you don't have to be all hot," said Jeremiah Rice.

The Deputy Superintendent for Johnson City Public Works says there is no reason parents should worry about their children using the pool.

While the pool was closed workers went through a special safety class.
