Yellow Dots Alert First Responders to Medical Information in Vehicle

If you are injured in a car crash first responders and doctors may need  your medical history to save your life. 
   
The New York State Sheriff's Association Yellow Dot program could help.
 
A driver can place  a yellow dot in a rear window of a vehicle to alert firefighters and EMS that there is a packet in the glove box which would provide information about  medications and allergies.

The program was originally geared towards senior citizens, however anyone can fill out a card.

"Very frequently when someone is seriously injured or ill, they're not able to convey this information to us, or at least their malfunction may be impaired enough that they can't recall it accurately," said EMS Coordinator, Raymond Serowik.

The yellow dot kits are free.

They are available at the Broome County Sheriff's Office or online.
