Floral Park Pool Employees Take Operator's Course

The Floral Park Pool is still closed for now, but it could be back open this Wednesday.

Workers from the J.C. Parks Department went through a training program with the Broome County Health Department. 

It's a basic course for operators of public swimming pools.
 
Pool operators learn about disinfection, filtration, health hazards, and water quality. 

"They actually, you know, we wanted to help them out as much as possible and get them educated as much as possible. We only expected a few people, they sent 15 people. So they're really being proactive making sure their staff are trained," said Chris Coddington the Director for the Division of Environmental Health for the Broome County Health Department.

The course is only offered for workers at public swimming pools in Broome County.
