Authorities Take Children from Dirty House

Officials say they were warned--but failed to clean up the house--and now, their two children have been taken by authorities:
 
The parents,  25-year old Michael Woodruff, nd 22-year old Kimberly Smith, both of Route 79 in Harpursville, were arrested.

They are charged with Endangering  the Welfare of a Child.

The kids, three and five years old,  are in the custody of Child Protective Services.

Authorities advised the couple last month to clean up their home.
When CPS came back this week during an unscheduled visit, officials say they found the house in the same condition--unkempt, dirty, littered with fecal matter from numerous pets, and smelling bad.

Woodruff and Smith were ticketed, and are due in court at a later date to answer charges.
