Dogs Strut Their Stuff In A Friendly Competition
6/9/2012 (Updated 11:06:19 PM)
Over fifty dogs of various breeds were strutting their stuff in the parking lot of the Johnson City Elks Lodge.
The show was put on by the Broome County Humane Society. The dogs were judged on their personality, cuteness and agility. Prizes were awarded in the small, medium and large categories as well as the best in show. Patti Chechatka had the largest dog in the competition.
"When he stands on his hind legs he's pretty close to seven feet tall. He's usually the biggest dog wherever we go, so I'm not surprised at all. I love animals, love Bruno and would do anything to support the Humane Society"
said dog owner Patti Chechatka.
The smallest dog in the competition was tea cup chihuahua. The event also featured a basket auction, bake sale and a barbeque. This was the first year for the show and organizers were pleased with the large turnout and say other shows will be planned in the future.
