Fatal Fire in Great Bend Still Under Investigation

In Great Bend,  the investigation continues into the fire that killed an elderly woman over the weekend.

The victim was 78 year old Helen Murphy, of 3627 Harmony Road in Great Bend Township, off Route 11.

Few details are available at this point, but the fire was noticed around 11:30 Sunday night, and state police say it appears to have been accidental in nature.

State police in Gibson are also investigating criminal mischief at a local park.

Swastikas were painted on a sliding board, merry-go-round,  fence and grass.

It was at  Joyce Deck Memorial Park, on Chase Avenue, in Hallstead Borough.

The offensive Graffitti appeared over the weekend, and has been painted over by park workers since then.
