A groundbreaking actress and comedian made a stop in the Southern Tier.
You may remember Geri Jewell on "The Facts of Life."
She was actually the first person with a disability to have a regular role on a network primetime series.
Wednesday she stopped by the Greater Binghamton Health Center to speak with the Handicapped Children's Association about how to cope with a disability.
"No matter what we go through in life, no matter how dark the tunnel looks there's light at the end of the tunnel, but you have to keep moving forward and you have to keep in mind the vision that you can get out that there's a way out, and there is a future," said Jewell.
Jewell has Cerebral Palsy and was originally from Buffalo.
