April's New York State Unemployment Numbers

Not much good news for New York State in the April unemployment numbers.
 
While the national unemployment rate is a full 1% lower than last year, New York State's unemployment is actually higher:

8.1% versus 7.4% last year.

Those numbers hold true for both upstate and downstate.

A little bit of good news for Tioga County where the unemployment rate is 7.4%.

Out of 63 counties in New York State, Tioga has the thirteenth lowest unemployment rate.
