Firemen Face Off for MDA - 3/19/2010
Call it "Firefighters on Ice." Binghamton's Fire Department will face off against Johnson City in a hockey match to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The M-D-A provides medical services for people suffering from more than 40 neuromuscular diseases.
Reps says they're grateful for the local support because the association receives no government funding and families they help are not charged."These services include clinic visits, flu shots, sending kids to summer camp, along with the repairs of wheelchairs, durable medical equipment, and of course I can't forget research. It costs MDA $85 for one minute of research."
The hockey game is scheduled for 8 P-M next Saturday at the Chenango Bridge Ice Rink.
Tickets will be 10 dollars at the door...and some of the Binghamton Senators might get in on the action.
