Paterson Gives More Details about Scandal - 3/18/2010

The Governor is providing more details about the domestic violence scandal involving one of his aides.

Governor Paterson says he was the first person to reveal to the media a conversation that he had with the woman who was allegedly assaulted.

Paterson says he spoke with Sherruna Booker, a former girlfriend to David Johnson.

Johnson is now on leave as an aide to the Governor.

A day after the conversation, Booker did not show up for a court hearing in the case against Johnson, which resulted in the case being dismissed.

Paterson claims he did not try to persuade her to drop the complaint.

GRAND ISLE, La. – An offshore petroleum platform exploded and was burning Thursday in the Gulf of Mexico about 80 miles off the Louisiana coast, west of the site where BP's undersea well spilled after a rig explosion.
