Ray Davies Rocks Out at Forum - 3/9/2010

If you survived the 60's and 70's,  you know about a guy named Ray Davies.

He survived too, and the singer and guitarist of The Kinks was wailing away Tuesday at a Whale birthday bash.

99.1 The Whale hosted the event at the Forum, as part of its 15th classic rock anniversary.

Ray Davies was part of what was known as the British Invasion in pop music.

Davies, who is now 65, has released more than 500 songs over the past half century.

 Gulf oil platform explodes, burning off La. coast
GRAND ISLE, La. – An offshore petroleum platform exploded and was burning Thursday in the Gulf of Mexico about 80 miles off the Louisiana coast, west of the site where BP's undersea well spilled after a rig explosion. The Coast Guard says no one was killed in the blast, which was reported by a commercial helicopter flying over the area Thursday morning.
