New Poll: Should Paterson Quit? - 3/3/2010

Despite the cloud of controversy hanging over the governor's head, a new poll shows New Yorkers still want him in office.

The poll, out of Quinnipiac University, found that 61% of voters don't want Paterson to resign because of the recent domestic violence scandal.

The majority of voters also said they'd prefer an investigation of the governor be done by an independent prosecutor rather than by Attorney General, Andrew Cuomo.

 Gulf oil platform explodes, burning off La. coast
GRAND ISLE, La. – An offshore petroleum platform exploded and was burning Thursday in the Gulf of Mexico about 80 miles off the Louisiana coast, west of the site where BP's undersea well spilled after a rig explosion.
