Blood Art on Display - 2/27/2010
When many of us think of art we think of paintings and sculptures.Jordan Eagles uses something a bit different to create his works -- earning him the name the blood artist.
The Ronald Wells Fine Arts Gallery in Binghamton is exhibiting Eagles's pieces during the month of March.
He creates those works of art using blood, Acrylic resin, Plexiglass and Copper.
Eagles's says his work isn't all about shocking his audience, but more about making people think about life.
"The work is about regeneration, so it's taking that which is no longer living, in this case it comes from cattle blood and it treats it in such a way that it's about regeneration. It brings back to life that which is no longer," said Eagle.
Eagles's work has been featured in the New York Times and Architectural Digest among other publications.
His exhibit will be open to the public March 12, 13 and by appointment.
