Memorial for Professor Antoun - 2/26/2010

Roz Antoun spoke about her husband's life and career this afternoon at Binghamton University's Anderson Center.
President Lois De Fleur and fellow professors also attended Friday's memorial--honoring the scholar's memory and message.
Friday, his wife and friends talked about the man who valued peace and compassion...and loved teaching.
"He was comfortable here on this campus, surrounded by the halls of learning, the beautiful mountains, the energy of youth, the controversial discussions and the vibrant growth," said Roz Antoun.
"Dick Antoun was an incredibly lovely human being, he was gentle, he was kind, he rarely spoke a bad word about people. He was an intellectual, he was very interested in ideas--he was very interested in political action," said Donald Quataert, a friend of Antoun.
Tonight at ten, hear more from Friday's memorial service--and how one of Antoun's friends reacted when he learned of his death.
