SEFCU is Accepting Donations for Earthquake Victims in Haiti - 1/19/2010

Albany, NY (January 19, 2010) — SEFCU, one of the largest credit unions in upstate New York, is accepting monetary donations through February 16 to benefit earthquake relief efforts in Haiti. The credit union will match the first $25,000 in donations. All donations will benefit the American Red Cross Haiti Relief Effort.
Contributions by members and non-members can be made at any SEFCU branch location, or by calling SEFCU’s Member Solutions Center at 518-452-8183 or 800-727-3328. Branches will accept cash as well as transfers for payment, while all debit and credit card donations must be made through the Member Solutions Center, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

 Gulf oil platform explodes, burning off La. coast
GRAND ISLE, La. – An offshore petroleum platform exploded and was burning Thursday in the Gulf of Mexico about 80 miles off the Louisiana coast, west of the site where BP's undersea well spilled after a rig explosion.
