Poor shooting day dooms BU - 1/10/2010

Maine also had low expectations entering this season, the only team picked to finish lower than Maine in the A-East were the Bearcats.

Early in the game, BU was putting it on the Bears. Umur Peten, cleans up the garbage, and BU started off with a nine-oh run to start the game.

Late first half, Kyrie Sutton with the put back slam, but the black had one point lead going into halftime.

Second half now, Moussa Camara nails back-to-back three's, for a team high 18, and the Bearcats lead by two.

The Black Bears march back later in the half Gerald McLemore, great finish, cutting the deficit to three.

BU trails by two now, Greer Wright goes coast to coast, count it! But Wright would miss the free throw, tied at 48's.

That means we would go to overtime, and in OT this would be the story. Maine only makes one bucket, but hits 11 free throws in the extra session.

Maine takes out BU 66-61 in OT, and shoots 20 more free throws during game, but Coach Macon says the refs are not to blame.

Macon: "The ref didn't put the ball in the basket. The ref didn't shoot the ball for the other team, and they didn't shoot the ball for us. We missed shots. We were twenty for 61. That's a lot of shot man."

The Bearcats look to rebound quickly from this home loss when they have another home contest against Stony Brook on Tuesday.
