Binghamton Man May Get Death Penalty - 11/28/2009

A Binghamton man charged with killing his ex-girlfriend in Arizona may get the death penalty.

According to published reports, Maricopa County prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for 39-year-old Dzevad Selimovic.

In September, Selimovic allegedly stabbed 27-year-old Emina Redza with a screwdriver several times in her Phoenix apartment. She died the next day.
 
Selimovic is charged with first degree murder and burglary. He is currently being held at the Maricopa County Jail awaiting a trial.

GRAND ISLE, La. – An offshore petroleum platform exploded and was burning Thursday in the Gulf of Mexico about 80 miles off the Louisiana coast, west of the site where BP's undersea well spilled after a rig explosion.
