Black Friday Scramble - 11/27/2009
The holiday shopping season has officially begun, with millions of shoppers hitting stores across the country in search of deals, and the Southern Tier is no exception.Thousands made their way to the Oakdale Mall this morning searching for the cheapest buys this holiday season.
Mall management says it expects spending to be up over last Black Friday, and is encouraging shoppers to support area businesses...but some shoppers say they won't be cracking open their wallets as much this year.
"I'm going to try less. I mean, people just don't have it. I don't have that extra this year, so the buys that you get are definitely worth it," said Noelle Ripley, Black Friday Shopper.
Coming up on FOX 40 news at ten, we'll tell you how some shoppers fared in stores Friday, and find out why Black Friday hasn't been living up to its name lately.
