Giving thanks for good health is a common sentiment on turkey day and Thursday, dozens of UHS patients got together with their families and staff to do just that.
UHS Renal Care Centers served its third annual turkey dinner complete with all the trimmings at the First Presbyterian Church in Endicott.
Staff on hand say they share this meal with those they serve because they have become much more than just patients.
"They come three or four times a week and they're with us three to four hours a day, so they're with us a lot more than sometimes we're with our own families so they become part of our extended family. So this is an opportunity to get everybody together for a wonderful meal," said Elyn Sulger, Nurse Manager of the UHS Renal Care Centers.
UHS estimates it served about 80 pounds of turkey,
65 pounds of potatoes, and eight pies at the dinner.
