Comptroller Completes Audit on Binghamton Schools - 11/24/2009

The State Comptroller completed his audit of the Binghamton City School District.

Thomas DiNapoli says district officials recycled more than 6 tons of computer equipment which reduced air and water emissions by more than 300 tons.

But he says the district went against state guidelines when the board appointed a BOCES employee as their claim auditor.

He also says the food services director did not monitor the cafeteria's operation finances.

District officials did not immediately return our calls.

GRAND ISLE, La. – An offshore petroleum platform exploded and was burning Thursday in the Gulf of Mexico about 80 miles off the Louisiana coast, west of the site where BP's undersea well spilled after a rig explosion.
