Syracuse dominates defending champs - 11/20/2009

Syracuse had never beaten North Carolina in the regular season before. This one was tied at 39 at the half, but the 'Cuse took over in the 2nd, here's Brandon Triche getting three points the hard way. The and one makes it 52-40 SU.

A few minutes later, Orange you glad SU has Scoop Jardine, the beautiful drive and drop there to extend the advantage to 19.

Can it get any better? Yes it can. Kris Joseph gets the kick back and he cashes in the tray to put SU up 62-42. UNC does make things interesting. It's David Ware from downtown. That gets the heels within eight.

But the 'Cuse can rest easy knowing that they have Wes Johnson. That spin o-rama was part of his game high 27 points and Syracuse slaughters North Carolina 87-71 to win the 2k Sports Classic championship.

Next up for the Orange; a clash with Cornell on Tuesday.
