He's sat in the pilot seat of the space shuttle and blasted off in to space. On Friday, he returned to where it all began.
Colonel Doug Hurley spoke to students at Owego Free Academy. And shared stories about his journey aboard the space shuttle "Endeavor" and his experiences at the International Space Station.
Hurley says he wants kids to know that just because they are from a small town doesn't mean they can't dream big.
"Just because maybe you don't think you've got access to all these different things that a big city would have, doesn't mean that you should limit what you want to do in your life," Hurley said.
Hurley attended the Owego-Apalachian School District more than 30 years ago.
