Car Seat Safety Check - 11/18/2009

Improperly installed car seats can lead to serious injury for children, but Broome County is offering a way to keep kids safer.

The sheriff's and health department held a free car seat safety check Wednesday.

Parents can sign up for the inspections, which are held once a month, and maybe even get a free car seat if they qualify financially.

The next car seat check will be held December 9 at the sheriff's department from nine in the morning until noon.

GRAND ISLE, La. – An offshore petroleum platform exploded and was burning Thursday in the Gulf of Mexico about 80 miles off the Louisiana coast, west of the site where BP's undersea well spilled after a rig explosion.
