Realtors Say Now Is The Time To Buy A Home - 11/12/2009
Despite a struggling economy, the head of one major realty company says now is the perfect time to buy a home.
The President and CEO of Century 21 Realty, Tom Kunz, was in town Thursday to discuss the current state of the business at Sbarra and Wells Realty in Johnson City.
Kunz says even though money is tight for lots of people, many factors have come together to create a perfect storm for potential home buyers.
"You now have incentive for the consumers to come off of the fence and decide to be a first time buyer, or a move up buyer. Interest rates are extremely low, they have some of the tax incentives to make it happen, and they have a lot of inventory to choose from," said Tom Kunz, CEO of Century 21 Real Estate.
This week, Congressman Maurice Hinchey secured legislation that will extend tax credits for first time home-buyers until April 30, 2010.
