Broome County Swine Flu Clinics - 11/10/2009

BINGHAMTON, NY – The Broome County Health Department has received 3,500 doses of H1N1 flu vaccine and will be holding vaccination clinics in the Susquehanna Valley and Windsor School Districts later this week.  The school districts were scheduled based on random selection, vaccine supply, parental notification/consent, and the size of the district.

The vaccine is available at no charge.  Written consent from a parent or guardian will be required for anyone under 18 years of age.

Children aged ten years and older require one dose of the vaccine.  Two doses, spaced four weeks apart, are recommended for children nine and younger.  Follow-up clinics for younger children will be scheduled.

This clinic is open to those who are in the Centers for Disease Control target population for vaccination.

Thursday, November 12, 2009, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
