Former Newark Valley Pastor Arrested for Embezzlement - 11/5/2009

A former pastor has been arrested twice for stealing from his church and from the Tioga County Habitat for Humanity.

27-year-old David Heckman Jr. of Binghamton was arrested for stealing $1,500 from The First Congregational United Church of Christ in Newark Valley.

He is also charged with stealing more than $50,000 from the Tioga County Chapter of Habitat for Humanity, while he was a member of the board of directors.

Heckman's been remanded to the Tioga County Jail.   

The Investigation is ongoing into Heckman’s activities.
