Owego Blasts Vestal In Football Crossover Game - 10/29/2009

High School football is typically reserved for Friday, but this week we're making an exception. Owego Free Academy and Vestal were left out of this year's playoff picture, but the two schools had a chance to make a final statement in tonight's crossover game.

A good crowd came out to OFA's Christy J. Valvo Stadium. And the Indians didn't disappoint. Just a couple minutes in, here's Parker Evans. And Parker places his money on boardwalk. He gets 200 dollars for passing go and it's 7-0 Owego. Bears try to claw back later in the quarter when Caleb Scepaniak finds Thad Zaparzynski in the flat. And “Zap” zips down the sideline for a 35 yard gain. Vestal's drive would stall from there and they hand the ball back to Owego. And the Indians take advantage. Scott Larabie lofts one over to Parker Evans. It's a shoe string catch and a whole lot more. Evans rumbles 40 yards to the house to extend owego's lead to 14. He added another TD later as OFA blanked Vestal 26-0.
