Jewelery Sale Benefits Victims of Domestic Violence - 10/25/2009
The holiday season isn't too far away, and that's why the S.O.S. Shelter is looking for even more help.
Sunday jewelry from Silpada designs was sold at Alice's Closet in Johnson City to benefit the non-profit that assists women and children who are victims of domestic violence.
The organizer of the event says that not many people realize how bad domestic violence is.
"Not many people know about it, and there are so many situations in the area that not many people are aware of just how bad it can be, what some women and children go through on a daily basis, so whatever little bit we can do to help," said Donna Stevens, a sales rep for Silpada Designs.
