Nationwide, Lockheed Martin will wrap up its two-hundred- thousandth care package for U.S. soldiers this year.
Now, 10 thousand of the packages will come from Lockheed Martin employees in the Southern Tier.
Saturday, 150 workers and their families stuffed goodies into bags through the U.S.O. care package program. The activity was a much needed morale boost for employees who saw hundreds of their co-workers laid off earlier this year.
"It's really good for me because I have a lot of friends and some family in the armed forces. And I've heard stories about how much they appreciate what the USO does. And it's just really good to be a part of that," Lockheed engineer Brandon Mecklin said.
The packages are due to be in the hands of U.S. soldiers within two to three weeks, just in time for Veteran's Day.
