Town Of Union Residents In Outrage Over Late Night Noise

Dozens of Town of Union residents were in outrage at tonight's board meeting--and all over non-stop noise issues from a nearby company.

National pipe and plastics recently relocated from Vestal to West Endicott. When that happened residents were upset that a 24/7 operation would be so close to a residential area--and now those concerns have become reality. Residents are complaining of constant noise throughout the night from non-stop back-up alarms, that are interrupting their sleep. they are now asking the town to take action.

"What we're going to do is we are going to hire out, we are going the monitor the noise. And it's going to be at random times so nobody will know when we are doing it. And it's going to be professional done so we can hear the different noises at different times of the day," said Town Supervisor, Rose Sotak.

Sotak said she has spoken to the owner of the company already.According to her, he said he spoke with drivers about the noise issues. They are now required to drive forward, unless unloading the vehicles. Sotak says the noise monitoring will happen randomly, and without warning.
