Montero to make big league debut Wednesday

After starting the year with a 4-1 record in 8 starts with a 3.67 ERA with Triple-A Las Vegas, Rafael Montero has been called up to the big leagues.  He will make his Major League debut when he starts against the Yankees at Citi Field on Wednesday.  Montero is rated as the #2 prospect in the Mets system behind another former B-Met pitcher, Noah Syndergaard.

The former B-Met only made 11 starts with the B-Mets in 2013 before his promotion to Las Vegas.  In those 11 starts, the 6'0" right-hander from the Dominican Repuiblic went 7-3 with a 2.43 ERA and 72 strikeouts.
