Spartan Trio sign on for D-1 Football

They've been friends for life, teammates for years, and have all won State Titles, Section Titles, and STAC Titles.  Thursday, Darnell Woolfolk, Kyle Gallagher, and Alec Wisniewski shared one more big milestone together.  Surrounded by friends, family, and coaches Darnell, "KG," and "Wiz" each signed their letters of intent to play Division I Football.  Woolfolk will head to West Point to join the Army Academy, Gallagher will stay in the Souther Tier committing to Cornell, and Wisniewski won't travel very far either, signing on to play at Colgate.

Baseball Coach Gary Crooks, Basketball Coach Bill Ocker, and Football Coach (and Kyle's dad) Matt Gallagher each spoke about the achievements of these three on and off the field and how inseparable they are, and always have been.  When asked how important it was for them to share this day together they each said, independently, they wouldn't have had it any other way.

All three also gave their own remarks thanking everyone for joining them, but also took time to thank the legions of fans that came out to support them not just for football season, but for every season.  They added that their successes on the field would not have been possible and would not have meant as much if it hadn't been for the support of the community.

By committing to Cornell, Gallagher joins former M-E teammates Luis Uceta and Jake Haddock as well as Union-Endicott grad David Archer, currently head coach at Cornell, and former U-E Head Coach Shane Hurd, currently Cornell's Quarterback Coach.
