Anti-Frackers Continue to Get Message Out to Public

Following Monday's wide-spread coverage of activist Vera Scroggins' bid to get a judge to life an injunction banning her from  land that Cabot owns or leases in Pennsylvania, Scroggins and other activists were in Binghamton Tuesday, to attend the showing of Groundswell Rising-- another documentary depicting what it presents as the health and environmental dangers of fracking.

But what about critics who say that such so-called documentaries are actually propaganda?

"Anybody who ever came out of seeing this film and made a comment about this being propaganda there's just no way. This film is just undeniably from the people's voice," said associate producer Dave Walczak.

'It moves you. It moves you when you see people like yourself going through this. And it's very easy to say: this could be me," said Renard Cohen, director and producer.

"Right now, we are losing people. How many numbers will finally convince somebody?  How many are expendable before they finally say: okay, you're right. We have to change," said anti-fracking activist, Vera Scroggins.

Groundswell Rising was directed and produced by Resolution Pictures, based near Allentown, Pennsylvania.  It's producers say it captures the passion of people engaged in a David and Goliath confrontation with the gas industry and other forces.

It was shot in Pennsylvania, and New York.
