Stand-off with Police on Walnut Street in Binghamton; SWAT Team Brought In

A dramatic and frightening incident in a Binghamton neighborhood began unfolding around 7pm Friday evening:   

Three individuals  could be seen being brought out of an apartment building  in handcuffs at 120-21- Walnut Street.

The Binghamton Police Department isn't releasing details yet, but it appears that the incident began when someone ran into the building.  We've been told that five or six individuals have been charged, but no information yet on what those charges are.

Several people from neighboring building were led to safety, including a woman with an infant in a baby carriage.

Shortly after the incident began, police were describing it as a barricade situation, and sent out calls for shields, assault rifles, and a SWAT team, plus a medical unit.

The incident ended with the arrests around 8:15.

No injuries were reported.

No further information is yet available.
