Former Worker Sues E.I. for 'Improper' Notification of Lay-offs

A recent lawsuit against Endicott Interconnect alleges that the microelectronics company may have violated worker notification requirements during a series of 2012 layoffs.

The lawsuit, filed by former worker  Mark Shreder, alleges that in 2012 E.I. laid off 257 employees in small batches over a six-month period, a measure some allege was done to circumvent federal and state guidelines.

Under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act, an employer must give advance notice if 50 or more jobs are lost due to a facility's closure.
