Prison Time for Woman who Fed Alcohol to Infant
3/7/2014 (Updated 6:52:25 PM)Three and a half to ten and a half years in prison for the woman held responsible for the death of an infant she fed alcohol.
The sentencing came in Chenango County Court Friday after 38-year-old Geneia Rood plead guilty to manslaughter in the second degree.
The three-month-old girl Rood was caring for was found dead at Rood's home in Pitcher in September of 2013.
The death was ruled a homicide after alcohol was found in the infant's system.
Rood, who admitted to being intoxicated, said the baby wouldn't stop crying, and she added vodka to the baby's formula.
