Town of Union Man Arrested After Police Chase

A Town of Union man is now in custody after leading police on a short pursuit and foot chase.

Broome County Sheriff's Office says 27-year-old David Wesser was driving on Day Hollow Road in the Town of Union when police conducted a traffic stop.

During the investigation, Wesser gave police a fake name. When a second police officer arrived, he sped away.

Police began to chase him through side streets in Endicott. Wesser stopped when he hit a dead end street, got out of the vehicle, and fled on foot.

Police quickly caught Wesser. He is facing numerous charges and has been remanded to the Broome County Jail.
