Fighting Rabies One Vaccine at a Time

Families made their way to the Chenango Bridge Fire house today to help keep their pets a little safer.

The fire station hosted one of the 20 rabies vaccination clinics that will be taking place throughout Broome County in the upcoming months. The clinic was free to the public. Dozens of dogs and cats were vaccinated. Organizers say clinics like this are very important for pets in the community.

"It saves a lot of work for the veterinarian to have it here and to have complete immunity for the population," said Edward Tillotson, Vet for the Clinic.

If you missed out on todays clinic, there is still time to get your pets vaccinated. On  April 2nd, the Broome County Humane Society will be holding another clinic at 6PM.
