Schumer Calling for Ban on Azodicarbonamide

What do yoga mats and  McDonald's sandwiches have in common?

The surprising answer could be a toxic chemical, according to Senator Charles Schumer. He is pushing to ban azodicarbonamide from food. It's a chemical used to make rubbery products such as shoe soles. While Schumer says Subway restaurants have recently removed the chemical, he says chains such as Arby's are still using it in their bread to "condition" the dough.

Schumer said he is calling on the FDA to ban the chemical in all food products nationwide.
