Gillibrand Agenda for Pay Equality

Senator Kirsten Gillibrand's unveiled a 5-point package today she says will empower working families by updating the rules of the modern workplace.

At Ithaca College --Gillibrand described what she calls her "American Opportunity Agenda" which focuses on middle class working women.

With more dual income households than ever before, Gillibrand says her  agenda will expand paid family medical leave and ensure equal pay for equal work--something that will correct current pay inequality between men and women:

"No matter what they do, how hard they work, everything is working against them--contrary to the American values that we reward hard work in this county,"
said Gillibrand.

Her Agenda also calls for an increase in the minimum wage, universal Pre-K, and affordable day-care for working mothers.
