Endwell Resident Aboard Royal Caribbean Ship With Hundreds Sick

The Royal Caribbean cruise ship carrying hundreds of passengers who got sick on their voyage docked in New Jersey Wednesday. Among the people on the ship were a group booked through a local travel agency.

A suspected norovirus could be what made as many as 700 passengers and crew sick. Endwell resident and cruise goer James Greene says the crew cleaned extensively once the outbreak hit. He said one crew member admitted to him there were issues with illness during the previous cruise on the ship.

"We didn't do any handshaking. We tried to stay away from touching people. There was a lot of anxiety. There were a lot of people quarantined in their rooms," said Greene.

Greene says the cruise line is refunding half the cruise fee and offering a half-off coupon for another cruise within the next year. He's also being refunded an additional $400.
