John Desisti Dies in State Prison

The crime he was accused of shocked the community.

A double killing in November of 2006 by shotgun, of his cousin Carol Keefe, and her husband David, a prominent attorney, in Athens Townshiip, Pennsylvania.

John Desisti, of Waverly, New York was charged with two counts of homicide.

His lawyers argued that he had dementia, and was not competent to stand trial.

In July of 2013, a judge agreed and Desisti's lawyers said he had only months to live.

John Desisti did die, in state prison, Monday morning.

The killings were related to a family land dispute.
